Coconut fiber differs from traditional soil; it's actually leftovers from coconut production. The coconut shells are organic and a surplus that would otherwise be thrown away. Pretty cool, right?

We use this fiber because it has significant advantages:

  • It's free from any nutrients, bugs and bacteria that are often found in traditional soil

  • It absorbs water very well

  • It provides a lot of oxygen to the plants' roots, making them grow faster.

This makes it an excellent growing medium for Auk. Theoretically, you can use any soil you want, but we highly recommend using coco fiber for the best results.

When to change the coco fiber?

Whenever you want to plant new seeds in your Auk we recommend changing the coco fiber. Used fiber often contains nutrients and roots, and has an incorrect pH balance that can affect germination and growth. You'll find coco fiber in our online store.
